Set at the heart of Toddington Station, the Cotswold Halt Café is a little different from our other refreshment spots. While cafés across the railway are proudly run by volunteers and open on running days, the Cotswold Halt Café offers extended opening hours and welcomes visitors even on some days when trains aren’t running.

That makes it a favourite not just with railway visitors, but with walkers, locals and regulars who enjoy calling in for a coffee, a bite to eat, or a slice of cake — steam train or not.

With the sound of locomotives on running days and the calm of the station on quieter ones, it’s a relaxed, welcoming place to pause, refuel and enjoy the surroundings at any time of year.

What’s on the Menu

The Cotswold Halt Café serves a tempting range of fresh, comforting food, ideal for all ages and appetites.

You’ll find:

  • Tasty breakfasts to start the day

  • Hot and cold drinks, including proper cups of tea and barista-style coffee

  • Jacket potatoes, toasties and savoury pastries

  • Soups and light lunches

  • A generous selection of cakes and sweet treats, baked and served with care

It’s relaxed, unfussy food — just right after a walk, between train rides, or as a treat during your visit.

Welcoming Everyone

The Cotswold Halt Café is a relaxed, friendly space where everyone feels at home — especially families. There’s plenty of room for buggies, space to spread out, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes it easy to pop in with little ones in tow. Children love watching the trains arrive and depart just outside, and the café is a popular spot for families to pause for a drink, a snack, or something sweet between adventures on the railway.

Highchairs are available, and our team is always happy to help make your visit as easy and comfortable as possible. We also do our best to cater for dietary requirements and food allergies, with options available for a range of needs — just speak to a member of the team when you order. Whether you’re visiting with children, meeting friends, or enjoying a quiet moment on the platform, you’ll find a warm welcome waiting.

Celebrations at the Station

The Cotswold Halt Café is also a lovely setting for small celebrations and get-togethers. From birthday gatherings to relaxed family occasions, we can help create an easy, welcoming atmosphere with food and drinks to suit your plans. If you’ve got something to celebrate, our team will be happy to talk through the options with you.
